Patriots Trying to Take Care of In-House Issues During Bye Week, Prepare for Whichever Team They End Playing

The Patriots once again have a first-round bye in the playoffs. And while that gives them an opportunity to rest, it also threatens to take away the rhythm they've established during their eight-game winning streak.

Head coach Bill Belichick and Co. are prepared to make sure they don't suffer the same fate as last year, when the Pats coasted into the playoffs, only to then be upset by the Jets following a first-round bye. The Patriots don't know who their first opponent will be, so they'll use the extra time to take care of some in-house issues.
