Prince Fielder has finally found a new home, and it's in a place that isn't all that unfamiliar to him.

The slugging first baseman is heading to Detroit to become a member of the Tigers, the same team his father, Cecil, played for from 1990-1996.

In fact, Andy Gray, who runs the Sports Illustrated's online photo archive (SI Vault), tracked down this gem of a photo upon hearing the news. It shows a very young — albeit a bit chubby — Prince Fielder throwing a baseball during Tigers batting practice, presumably from Cecil's playing days in Detroit.

Clearly, this shows that the younger Fielder was destined to become a Detroit Tiger nearly two decades later. Then again, judging by his wardrobe, there was also a chance of him joining Theo Epstein in Chicago as a member of the Cubs, or even switching sports in order to lace up the cleats for the Giants in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Well, in any event, happy coincidence.

Check out Prince from back in the day in the photo below.
