Report: Colts Planning to Cut Ties With Peyton Manning, Decision Made 'Weeks Ago'Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts could be heading for a messy divorce.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that, according to sources who were involved in the Colts' general manager search, the organization has been planning to move on from Manning for weeks.

That was reportedly well before the public squabble between Manning and Colts owner Jim Irsay. The two issued a joint statement to "dispel any misperceptions" on Friday, but the latest report indicates that Manning's days in Indianapolis are numbered.

La Canfora reports that the Colts will make a move on Manning "almost certainly" before the start of the 2012 NFL scouting combine.

The Colts are rebuilding and Manning is owed a $28 million roster bonus on March 8, so it's not too surprising that the quarterback might not be in the fold next season, despite serving as the face of the franchise since 1998.
