Patty Mills‘ trip to China is not ending on a good note after getting cut by Xinjiang, the team he signed with during the NBA lockout. To make matters worse, the team is accusing him of faking a hamstring injury that has kept him out of action.

“Due to a fake injury, the Xinjiang team has cut the foreign player Mills,” team general manager Hou Wei said, according to FOX Sports.

Mills has been out of commission since late December, according to the report, and was cut after asking for two more weeks to heal. Mills had been averaging 26.5 points per game for Xinjiang before his injury.

The 23-year-old Australian point guard will now join former Xinjiang teammate Kenyon Martin on the sidelines waiting for the Chinese season to end. The two were both released but due to language in their contracts, they cannot play for any other pro teams (including NBA teams) until Xinjiang’s season ends.
