Ray Allen to Miss Celtics’ Game With Nets at TD Garden Because of Lingering Illness

Ray Allen took the court on Monday night for the Celtics battling a bit of a cold. It didn't slow him one bit, however, as the C's veteran scored 27 points to help Boston roll the Wizards.

It appears that he won't be able to do the same on Wednesday night with the Nets in town.

Celtics radio play-by-play broadcaster Sean Grande tweeted early Wednesday night that Allen is 'likely out' for Boston's game with their division rivals.

"Apparently..he's human. Ray Allen likely out tonight (it's cold and flu season, kids)," Grande tweeted.

The decision makes sense, as the Celtics are hosting a bad New Jersey team that will be even worse without the service of arguably their three best players. Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries will all miss Wednesday's game for the 1-5 Nets.

Those absences give Providence alum MarShon Brooks a chance to make his first career NBA start.
