Report: Yankees Sign Hiroki Kuroda to One-Year Deal

The Yankees had been having a pretty quiet winter — until Friday.

The Bombers continued the upheval of their pitching staff on Friday night when they signed free-agent pitcher Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year deal. The deal was first reported by YES Network's Jack Curry. According to Curry, the deal is worth between $10 and 11 million.

Kuroda, who will be 37 on Opening Day, is coming off of a 13-16 campaign in 2011. That record, however, doesn't fully indicate how successful Kuroda was. He through 202 innnings while posting a 3.07 ERA. In four seasons in the majors, he's 41-46 with a 3.45 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP.

The news of this move came literally less than an hour after reports surfaced that the Yankees acquired right-hander Michael Pineda from the Mariners for Jesus Montero.
