For years, the New EnglaRob Gronkowski's Dad Says Son Has High Ankle Sprain, Will Be Ready for Super Bowl XLVInd Patriots have been stingy when it comes to divulging information about injuries. Bill Belichick has been a master of keeping the world in the dark when it comes to the state of his players.

Unfortunately, no one told Gordy Gronkowski.

The father of Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski told WIVB in Western New York that his son has a high ankle sprain, but that Rob should be ready to play in the Super Bowl.

The younger Gronkowski suffered the injury in the Patriots 23-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game when Ravens safety Bernard Pollard rolled over his ankle after a completion.

Quickly becoming one of the most dynamic offensive players in the NFL, Gronkowski’s health is crucial to the Pats, who are hoping to win their fourth title under Belichick. The elder Gronkowski is happy to see his son become a star, and is amazed by the coverage that the Patriots’ tight end receives.

"I wake up every morning, and I can't believe what's happening,” said Gordy Gronkowski. “I pick up the New York Times, and here Robbie's in the New York Times. I pick up our paper and Robbie's picture is here and there. I turn on ESPN, he's all over ESPN SportsCenter."
