Tuesday night marked a first in Bruins history. For the first time in the franchise's established history, both teams involved were awarded penalty shots.
Tuukka Rask turned away Chris Thorburn's penalty shot in the first period before Shawn Thornton came streaking out of the penalty box in the second period, only to be hooked from behind on a breakaway. He was given a penalty shot of his own, and he did not disappoint.
