Snooki Boxing Enterprise Not As Ominous As It SoundsWith the news that Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi had decided to create her own professional boxing group, criticisms came in from all corners of the sporting world.

Sure, the reality TV star is probably not very qualified to run a boxing group — she's probably not qualified to run much of anything, for that matter.

For those who don't know, Snooki put together Team Snooki Boxing, which will see brothers Eddie, Patrick and Paul Hyland take part in "The Irish Invasion" at the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., on Jan. 28.

Her reality TV fame is bound to die out as soon as her fake bronze, so why not try to venture out and extend her brand? It makes perfect sense for her financially.

The thing is, it's not that bad of an idea for the boxing world, either. The sport seems to slowly be dying out in the mainstream, so why not bring in a fresh face?

While Snooki has zero background in boxing, that is exactly the kind of direction the sport needs. Would an inexperienced Snooki really be more harmful to the sport than a vindictive and corrupt Bob Arum?

This venture is likely not to get anywhere close to any elite fights. Snooki is not only bringing in a fresh face to a sport that greatly needs it but also giving a great opportunity to boxers to break into the scene with her support.

Without a Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight anywhere in the future as Mayweather prepares to go to jail, the Jan. 28 debut of "The Irish Invasion" may be the most hyped fight in the first half of 2012.

Politicians in Washington seem to be running on the simple fact that they're outsiders to separate themselves from the corrupt institutions they are trying to enter; Snooki is a legitimate outsider that will hopefully stir up a sport that is in a long-awaited need for renovation.
