Tim Tebow Sets New Twitter World Record for Tweets Per Second During Broncos’ Overtime Win

It's official: Tim Tebow is the biggest thing on the Internet.

The Denver Broncos' Tebow-led win over the Pittsburgh Steelers set a new world record for tweets per minute. Twitter users were clocked at an astonishing 9,420 tweets being sent per second, shattering the previous high.

The old record was held by Beyonce Knowles' announcement during the MTV Music Awards that she was pregnant, which generated 8,868 tweets per second.

Tebow also breaks the previous sports record-holder, which was set during this summer's Women's World Cup. The final game between the U.S. women's team and Japan that checked in at 7,196 tweets per second.
