Will Zdeno Chara Draft Tim Thomas With First Pick of NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft? It's the week of the All-Star break, which means that many Bruins players will be enjoying some time off following the team's game in Washington on Tuesday.

Zdeno Chara, Tim Thomas and Tyler Seguin, however, will be heading to Ottawa afterwards to participate in this year's NHL All-Star game.

Chara has been named the captain of his own team and will be responsible for drafting a roster of three goalies, six defensemen and 12 forwards for Sunday's showdown against the team captained by Daniel Alfredsson.

Big Z will have a wide selection of talent to choose from during the "fantasy draft" on Thursday night, chief among them his own teammates. While Tim Thomas did receive the most fan votes for goaltender, goalies historically only play one period in the game and the games are decidedly offensive-minded anyway.

Alfredsson has admitted that he is already leaning towards taking Senator teammate Erik Karlsson with his first pick, so it doesn't appear that Chara will need to worry about Thomas being off the board if Karlsson gets the first overall pick.

Is loyalty to his own goalie worth using a first-round pick on for Chara? Or, should he look elsewhere for his first selection, hoping to find a player whose impact may be felt during more than just one period? It's a tough decision to be sure, and one that Chara may need to consult with assistant captain Joffrey Lupul to make.
