Adrian Gonzalez is featured on the cover of the video game "MLB 12 The Show." But his relationship with the game goes beyond serving as its cover athlete.

Gonzalez said the game helps him to learn about pitchers — including how they may attack him during at-bats — because of its life-like simulation. The Red Sox first baseman said he often pitches against himself in an effort to learn more.

The All-Star slugger also demonstrated what he does in the batter's box, which are words most kids may want to take note of given his success as a hitter. Gonzalez hit .338 with 27 home runs and 117 RBIs last season.
