Alex Morgan, Hope Solo and Sydney Leroux Headline Seattle Sounders Women's TeamSigning Hope Solo, Sydney Leroux and Alex Morgan proves that the Seattle Sounders know how to do it big. The club added the three 2011 World Cup stars to its women's squad in recent weeks, as it looks to capture the 2012 W-League title.

"I am excited to play in a city that is so passionate about soccer," Morgan told the club website. "The Sounders have been one of if not the best fan support in MLS. I can only imagine how Seattle fans would respond to having a full professional women’s team in the future."

Morgan burst into the public eye with her performances in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. The 22-year-old forward only made her debut with the U.S. Women's National Team in 2010, but already has 16 goals in 32 appearances to her credit.

She joins Solo and U.S.A. teammate Leroux in bringing star power to both the wildly successful MLS club and the fledging women's league. The trio will participate in Sounders (women's) games when they are not involved in the national team's preparations for the 2012 Olympic games.

Solo and Leroux joined the club in mid-February, much to the delight of Sounders General Manager Amy Carnell. Solo has overcome a shoulder problem that plagued her for much of the last 18 months, and will play a leading role for club and country.

"Hope is undoubtedly the best women's keeper in the game today," Carnell said. "Her signing represents the caliber player Sounders Women's fans can expect in 2012. As the landscape of women’s soccer continues to evolve, we realize the unique opportunity before us."
