Brandon Bass Expected to Miss 10-14 Days With Knee Injury

The Celtics' frontcourt continues to experience setbacks. This time, it's Brandon Bass who will be forced to miss some time for the C's.

The team announced on Sunday that Bass will miss 10-14 days with inflammation in his ailing right knee, which comes on the heels of an injury he originally suffered during the Celtics' Feb. 3 contest against the Knicks.

Bass missed the following game against the Grizzlies, but then played in three straight games before missing Sunday's tilt with the Bulls.

"We knew his knee was bothering him, but then he got the treatment, and he missed that one game," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "There was nothing said after the Toronto game. Then [team trainer] Eddie [Lacerte] called me this morning and told me he was out, and out for a while. That was a surprise."

Bass has averaged 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds in 29 minutes per game in his first season in Boston. The injury is even more of a blow to Boston because of the status of fellow big man Jermaine O'Neal, who missed his second straight game on Sunday because of a shoulder injury. O'Neal is listed as day-to-day.

Chris Wilcox got the start alongside Kevin Garnett on Sunday with both Bass and O'Neal sidelined.
