Gary Carter was loved by many and The Kid's memory lives on in the New York sky on Friday.
The Empire State Building is lit up in Mets colors in honor of Carter, who played five seasons for the Mets from 1985 to 1989.
He is best remembered in his time playing for the Amazin's for his two-out single to spark the team's comeback victory in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
