Philadelphia 76ers guard Evan Turner hasn’t exactly lit up the NBA since being taken with the No. 2 pick in the 2010 draft, but he did manage to set a Guiness World Record on Friday.

A record that Minnesota rookie Ricky Rubio topped 15 minutes later, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

With one of Guiness’ judges on hand, Turner hit a then-record 14 shots from behind the backboard in less than a minute, according to a tweet by 76ers Director of Public Relations Michael Preston at 10:41 a.m.

But Turner would see his high mark broken before noon, when the Timberwolves’ Rubio bested him by hitting 18 shots.

This won’t be the last time Turner and Rubio go head-to-head this weekend, as the two will be on opposite benches on Friday night in the BBVA Rissing Stars Challenge.
