Latin American Players Continue to Shine in Europa League

The Latin Americans continue to make their teams proud in the Europa League with not only consistent but game-changing performances. Below is a list of the top stars in the tournament.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez
Despite a slump in the league, Chicharito continues to shine in the Europa League. Chicharito proved the difference maker for his team with scores in the away and home matches of the Round of 32 against Ajax to help his team advance.

Radamel Falcao
The Colombian striker was so stellar in the first leg of the Round of 32 (with two goals and an assistant in the 3-0 thrashing of Lazio by Atletico Madrid) that got a deserved rest in the second leg. He’s sure to be back for the Round of 16 as he tries to win the title in back to back years.

Sergio Agüero
The Argentinean striker continues to shine with Manchester City as one of the top scorers in the Premier League and Europa Cup. Agüero was named the man of the match in Manchester City’s dominant 3-0 win against Porto.

Roberto Rosales
The Venezuelan defender is one of the reasons Twente has had a successful campaign in the Europa league. Rosales has scored twice and the Twente defense has not allowed a goal in three straight matches.

Mauricio Islas
The Chilean midfielder continues to find success with Udinese. He played in all of the team’s games in the Europa League and is likely to transfer to a larger club in the summer.

Jefferson Farfan
The Peruvian continues to find success on the European stage with Schalke 04. The team is one of the favorites to make it to the final of the Europa League.

Matias Fernandez
Matias Fernandez has been one of the stars for the Portuguese club Sporting. The Chilean midfielder has one goal and two assists so far in the tournament.

Matias Suarez
The Argentinean striker is one of the breakout stars of the tournament. Suarez has seven goals in seven games for Anderlecht and will likely make a move to a bigger club in the next transfer window.

Nelson Valdez
The Paraguayan striker has found success with his new Russian club Rubin. The player has three goals in seven games so far in the Europa League.

Luis Manuel Seijas
The Venezuelan player has just stared his European career and is already excelling. He has two goals in six matches with the Belgian club Standard Liège.
