The young Reds can match the exploits of their first-team counterparts, and play in a cup final this season. Liverpool will host Ajax in the semifinal of the inaugural NextGen Series on March 14 at Anfield, according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds lost their quarterfinal meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Feb. 1, but Spurs withdrew from the competition after it was discovered they fielded an ineligible player.

LFC was reinstated into the Series, and it will look to make the most of the second opportunity.

Inter Milan meets Olympique Marseille in the other semifinal on March 21 at Brentford’s Griffin Park.

The final will take place on March 25 at Selhurst Park in London.

The NextGen Series is a tournament featuring academy teams from 16 of Europe's top clubs. It gives players under the age of 18 a platform on which they can showcase their talents, and test themselves against the best of their peers.
