NFL to Add Five Thursday Night Games, Offer Spanish Version of NFL RedZoneIt turns out Thursday nights are going to gain even more popularity in the NFL.

Commissioner Roger Goodell announced on Friday that the Thursday night games on NFL Network will now start in Week 2 and run through Week 15. Thursday games will only be skipped during Week 12 of the regular season. This plan to add five games to the Thursday night schedule will be implemented for the 2012 season.

"Adding these games to the NFL Network schedule will give more players, teams, and cities the primetime stage," said Commissioner Goodell.  "Our fans can now get an early start on the NFL weekend in the season’s first 15 weeks."

The new schedule will now offer all 32 teams the chance to play during primetime in the regular season.

Also, a Spanish-language version of NFL RedZone will be launched in 2012.
