Peter Chiarelli Noticed ‘Heavy Slugging’ Prior to Trade Deadline, As Buyers Far Outnumbered Sellers (Video)

The Bruins added some depth on Monday, bringing in forward Brian Rolston and defenseman Mike Mottau from the Islanders and acquiring defenseman Greg Zanon from the Wild.

And while Peter Chiarelli is satisfied with the new pieces he's added to what he hopes is a Stanley Cup puzzle, the Bruins general manager noted how difficult it was to make a deal, particularly because the buyers far outnumber the sellers at this year's deadline.

Chiarelli said that he made more phone calls in the three or four days leading up to the deadline this year than he had in any other year.

Check out the video above to hear more from Chiarelli.
