Brian Boyle may play for the New York Rangers, but the Massachusetts native hasn't budged when it comes to his rooting interests in other sports.

Boyle remains a Patriots fan which means that he, like the rest of New England sports fans, was left disappointed following the Super Bowl on Sunday night.

It only got worse for Boyle on Monday, though, as he returned to work to find a locker full of Giants gear. As Yahoo's Puck Daddy blog points out, Boyle was forced to wear the gear after losing a Super Bowl bet.

The forward returned to the locker room after practice where a Giants jacket and a Super Bowl champions hat was hanging in his stall. Boyle was a good sport, as he put the hat on, but he did drop the jacket to the floor.

He eventually relented (see the photo below) and donned the jacket. Boyle also addressed the media while wearing the hat, but made it fairly clear that he was not having a good time.

"I don't have to be happy about it," Boyle told reporters. "I'm not gonna put a smile on my face."

Naturally, Boyle's teammates didn't make things any easier.

"Everybody's been real nice," he said sarcastically. "Nice guys. They don't even have a dog in the fight, like they don't even care. They don't care one way or the other. They just wanted to give it to me."

Boyle was also told about goaltender Marty Biron's tweeting in which the backup goalie gave Boyle some grief.

"Yeah, I know, Biron tweets everything," Boyle said before looking across the room at Biron. "Put your phone away Marty! I got even with him today when I lit him up in practice.

"I have roughly 200 goals on you," Boyle told Biron before getting a shot in on the goaltender's wardrobe as well. "Nice turtleneck."

Check out the photo that Biron tweeted below, as well as a video from NHL.com.
