The loss was the first in 23 home games for Detroit, and it was a hard fought game throughout. However, one member of the Red Wings wasn't particularly happy with the way the Canucks conducted themselves after the game.
Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard had some choice words for Vancouver after seeing the way Alex Burrows and Co. celebrated following the win.
"I don't even pay attention," Howard said of the Canucks. "They've got a bunch of idiots over there. There are only several good guys on that team, and they know who they are."
Howard is likely referring to Burrows attempting to break his stick over his knee after the winning shootout goal. Of course, this isn't the first time that Burrows and the Canucks have gotten under their opponent's skin. The Bruins can certainly attest to that.
One thing is certain, though. If the Red Wings and Canucks meet up in the playoffs, it is sure to be a supercharged, bitter series.
