The Bruins were quiet for much of Monday, but Peter Chiarelli was a busy man wheeling and dealing right up until the 3 p.m. deadline.

The B's sent defenseman Steven Kampfer to Minnesota in exchange for defenseman Greg Zanon right at the deadline, Chiarelli announced.

Zanon, 31, has played in 39 games this season, totaling two goals and four assists. The six-year pro also has a minus-1 rating this season.

Until this season, Zanon had played in no fewer than 66 games in a given season as a full-time NHL player. The 5-foot-11 blue liner is averaging more than 2.5 blocked shots per game in his last three seasons, including blocking 104 in just 39 games this season.
