Report: Flyers, Blue Jackets Have Had Trade Discussions About Rick NashThe cost of acquiring Rick Nash would surely be high. But the Flyers have at least had discussions with the Blue Jackets about a potential deal involving the star winger.

The Flyers are listening to the Blue Jackets about what it would take to land the five-time All-Star, according to CSNPhilly.com's Tim Panaccio.

A deal could be unlikely, especially since the Flyers have already used draft picks to pry defenseman Nicklas Grossman away from the Dallas Stars, and appear on the verge of doing the same to land another defenseman in Pavel Kubina. Yet, there have at least been some talks between the two teams, as Columbus continues to flirt with the idea of moving its captain.

Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson and senior advisor Craig Patrick attended Saturday's Flyers game, and Howson reportedly spent some time talking to Flyers GM Paul Holmgren earlier in the day.

Panaccio reports that the price for the Flyers to acquire Nash would probably be Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn, or perhaps James van Riemsdyk, another player and goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

In any event, it would be a huge gamble for the Flyers, although Nash would provide them with some scoring a punch. The 27-year-old has scored 40 or more goals on two separate occasions, and more than 30 goals six times. This season, Nash has 18-21-39 totals through 57 games.

Nash, who's in the second year of a contract that carries a $7.8 million salary cap hit per season through 2017-18, also has a no-move clause. He's reportedly given a list to Howson stating which teams he would accept a trade to, and the Flyers are not believed to be on it, so that could further complicate any potential deal.
