What a weird season it’s been for Lamar Odom.

The Mavericks forward’s unhappiness with the trade that brought him from Los Angeles was well-documented, and according to multiple reports he has requested a buyout of his contract. The rumors blog Hoops Authority rekindled that rumor on Tuesday, adding that the Celtics would be one of Odom’s preferred destinations.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban previously denied a similar report, but facts seldom get in the way of a good trade rumor.

“We haven’t discussed a buyout and we wouldn’t do a buyout,” Cuban told ESPN. “No chance that happens at all. We want to help Lamar work through any personal issues and expect him to be a valuable contributor to the Mavs this season. Players go through challenges from time to time and we try to be [an] organization that fully supports our players when things are challenging for them. We will do the same for Lamar.”

So is that a “no”?
