Report: Measles Alert Issued For Super Bowl Village Attendees

Anyone coming back to Boston after the Super Bowl will be bringing some tough memories with them. Hopefully, they won't also be bringing back the measles.

Health department officials in Indianapolis and Massachusetts have issed a "measles alert" after one case of the highly infectious disease was confirmed at the Super Bowl Village in Indy on Feb. 3. On that Friday, some of the 200,000 people who visited the Village may have been exposed.

Although many people have been vaccinated against measles, officials are encouraging those born after 1957 to be on the alert for any symptoms of the disease, which include fever, cough, a runny nose or watery eyes. A red, blotchy rash also appears around 14 days after initial exposure.
