Report: Raul Ibanez in ‘Serious Negotiations’ With Yankees

The Yankees could be closer to nabbing a designated hitter for their lineup.

Raul Ibanez is reportedly in "serious negotiations" with the Yankees and is willing to accept less money to play for New York, FOX Sports reports. The former Phillies outfielder and first baseman would add a left-handed bat to New York's lineup.

At 39, Ibanez still showed signs of power last season, clubbing 20 homers and 84 RBIs in 144 games to help Philadelphia claim a 102-60 record.

In 16 seasons with the Phillies, Mariners and Royals, Ibanez has unloaded 252 homers, 1,054 RBIs and boasts a lifetime .280 average. He also represented the Phillies in the 2009 All-Star Game.
