Tom Cruise has dreams of making it in Major League Soccer, and he will try and do so with the New England Revolution.

Sky Sports reports the Revs have invited Cruise to try out with the team during it's preseason training camp in Arizona.

Cruise, not that Tom Cruise, is a 20-year-old English soccer player. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Arsenal Academy, and a free agent. He has been out of contract since June, so the Revs are taking an extended look at him to gauge his readiness to contribute to the team.

The left-footed Cruise only made one appearance for Arsenal's first team because his path was blocked by more established players. Gael Clichy and Kieran Gibbs represent France and England respectively, and the duo played the majority of games at left back during Cruise's brief time in the club's professional ranks.

Cruise is a player with a pedigree about which he can boast. He represented England at the U-19 level, and is noted for his versatility. He can play on left and center of the defense and midfield.

Left fullback is an area of concern as the Revs' season opener (March 10) approaches. Danleigh Borman was expected to play the role, but he signed with SuperSport United in his native South Africa instead.

A number of players are competing for the job. Cruise has a good chance of winning the battle and starting a career in MLS.
