Two weeks ago, Tevez returned to the club following a self-imposed exile in Argentina that lasted over three months. He apologized to everyone associated with the club last week, and began practicing on his own to regain his fitness and sharpness.
Less than three months remain in City's season, and the club is looking to win it first league championship since 1968. It was the runaway leader at the start of the season, but injuries, suspensions and other absences has reduced its lead over second place Manchester United to just two points.
Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero have shouldered the goal-scoring load for most of the season. Tevez — arguably a better player than the other three — adds a world-class dimension to an already star-studded attack. Mancini will consider the Argentine international after he practices for a week or two.
"He has apologised, I do not have any problem," Mancini said.
"I think Carlos knows the team very well. The team in the last six or seven months have played very well and is top of the Premier League. We know Carlos very well, he is a top striker. If he is good, I think he can do a good job in the next two months."
Silva also knows the value Tevez can add to City's title charge. He saw this during the 2010-11 season, when Tevez scored a team-high 23 goals (in all competitions). He expects "El Apache" to return sooner rather than later.
"Carlos has shown before he has great character and determination, and for someone like him it would be easier to get into form than for others," Silva said.
"It is very important to have those four great strikers with us. It makes it easier for the people playing behind them. We all know they are great players and it could be an important factor to help us win the title race."
