Emmanuel Frimpong Driven From Twitter by 'Haters', Arsenal Player Is Social Media StarTwitter can be a rough place, even for one of the Premier League's physical specimens. Emmanuel Frimpong is threatening to take leave of the social network after he faced a barrage of criticism over how he spends his free time.

The Arsenal midfielder tweeted to his legions of followers that he had just spit hot fire (that's made good music, kids) in the studio. His boasts were met with orders from the Twitter police that he should be spending his time focusing on his game instead of hanging around in the studio.

Like any professional athelete, Frimpong has more free time than everyday people. Unlike other pros, he has a great deal of time to kill. The 20-year-old is recovering from injury. His season ended on Feb. 4, when he ruptured the ACL in his right knee during a Premier League game. He suffered a similar injury two years ago.

Frimpong was enjoying a loan spell with Wolves when he limped off the field. He is a member of a talented generation of Arsenal youngsters that lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2009, and is expected to form the backbone of the Gunners' future core.

The abuse is uncharted territory for Arsenal's up-and-coming enforcer. Frimpong has amassed over 430,000 Twitter followers by sharing his honest opinions on, well, everything. That includes last year's controversial sale of former Arsenal star Samir Nasri.

We don't know if Frimpong's departure is real or a cry for help. See his story below and judge for yourself.
