Jenny Dell Striving to Achieve Her Goals, Just As Red Sox Players Are This Season

I am back in New England for a few days to put my house in Connecticut on the market, move up to Boston and take care of some work at NESN's headquarters.

A few months ago, a wise friend told me, "Write down your goals, and post them on your wall, so you can look at them every single day."

On the morning of my 25th birthday (July 26), I did just that. That single piece of paper is the only thing that remains in my otherwise empty room. I almost forgot to grab it, as it has become almost wallpaper, permanently posted next to the door of my bedroom.

These goals have been a constant reminder of the recipe I created to live a happy, healthy, and meaningful life. With my new career, new city, the new chapter in my life, my goals remain the same.

Being down in Florida for the last few weeks, I've come to realize that the Red Sox players are reaching for the very same goals I wrote down, eight months ago. To some of the guys, spring training is a fresh start, to others; a new career, a new city and a new chapter in their lives.

Just like in life, spring training provides a clean slate and a new beginning. With an offseason full of change for both the Red Sox and in my life, it's important to remember the essentials.
