Jose Iglesias is the most popular shortstop prospect in the Red Sox organization, but a couple of other names could begin to suface more frequently in the coming years.
Jose Vinicio and Xander Bogaerts are both intriguing prospects, and their high potential makes the system's shortstop depth extremely underrated.
Vinicio, an 18-year-old from the Dominican Republic, is known mostly for his defense and blazing speed, while the 19-year-old Bogaerts possesses a great deal of power. Bogaerts, a native of Aruba, blasted 16 home runs in just 72 games at Single-A Lowell last season.
