Let the Marty Turco era in Boston begin.
Turco cleared waivers on Wednesday and joined his new teammates at practice at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass. The netminder was wearing a red helmet and was at the center of the team stretch at center ice, according to NESN.com Bruins reporter Douglas Flynn.
Turco has 273 career wins and a 2.35 goals-against average in 538 career games played. Turco played in Dallas during his first nine NHL seasons before joining the Blackhawks for the 2010-11 season, where he went 11-11-0-3 with a 3.02 GAA in 27 starts.
The Bruins have yet to make a formal announcement on Turco, who will be unable to play in the postseason because he was added to the team after the NHL trade deadline.
