The Celtics faced a scary moment with Mickael Pietrus on Friday night.

The Celtics forward fell hard on his back while making a drive to the basket while making contact with Lou Williams. His head never made contact with the hardwood, but his head snapped forward and he immediately grabbed it and rolled over to his side.

With 5:07 remaining in the second quarter, a stretcher came out for Pietrus while 76ers coach Doug Collins and the entire Celtics team came to watch him get rolled out. He left to the polite applause of the crowd in Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia.

Pietrus was starting for the injured Ray Allen, who was out with a sore left ankle and now the C's will have to look even further into their bench for production.

ESPN Boston is reporting that Pietrus will remain hospitalized overnight, had an x-ray and CT scan, and is scheduled for an MRI.
