Final, Red Sox 1-0: Junichi Tazawa took over in the ninth, and he struck out the side with a Corban Joseph single mixed in.
The Sox take the first of their meetings with the Yankees this spring.
Mid 9th, Red Sox 1-0: We finally have our first run of the game.
After Pedro Ciriaco's single, a fielding error allowed him to reach third, and a throwing error let him score.
Ellsbury and Lavarnway then struck out, and Nate Spears grounded out to end the inning.
We'll head to the ninth with the Sox on top 1-0.
Bottom 7th: Padilla racked up two more strikeouts in the inning. Just keep in mind he's throwing against the Yankees' second-string squad this time around.
Mid 7th: So this is really just a strikeout-fest. Yankees pitcher David Phelps struck out Lars Anderson and Will Middlebrooks.
Are we looking at another spring training extra-inning game? Who knows?
Bottom 6th: Vicente Padilla has bounced back nicely after getting shelled in his previous outing over the weekend.
He struck out Russell Martin and then fanned Alex Rodriguez in three straight pitches.
Bottom 5th: We have a pitching line on Felix Doubront. He threw four innings, yielding two hits, no rubs and one walk. He recorded three strikeouts (75 pitches, 49 strikes).
Ivan Nova was very sharp as well, throwing four innings and allowing two hits, no runs, no walks to go along with three strikeouts.
Doubront is really making a strong case for the No. 5 spot in the rotation. As everybody knows, a sharp performance against the rival Yankees doesn't hurt his chances either.
Mid 5th: Rivera makes quick work of Middlebrooks and Linares. He could've been out in three, but Mark Teixeira made a fielding error that allowed Kroeger to get on base.
It was vintage Rivera against Alex Hassan. The Yankees closer struck him out.
Bottom 4th: Doubront had the longest at-bat ever against Raul Ibanez, but ultimately forced him to fly out to deep center.
And – gasp – enter Sandman is playing, which means Mariano Rivera is coming in. Earlier in spring training, Rivera hinted at retirement.
Also speaking of intro songs, Andrew Bailey still hasn't decided on anything yet.
Mid 4th: Ivan Nova was heating up, fanning Jacoby Ellsbury and Jarrod Saltalamacchia in successive at-bats.
During the inning, Pedroia managed to collect a hit — the Red Sox's second of the game and the third of the game combined.
Bottom 3rd: Doubront had a really good pitching at-bat against Russell Martin. Struck him out with three straight strikes.
He started him up with two curveballs and punched him out with what I believe was a changeup. He certainly seems like he's in the zone.
Mid 3rd: Really, quick one here with not a lot of action. Three up, three down for the Red Sox.
Kroeger grounded out to 1st, Hassan to shorstop and Aviles flew out to right field. Despite starting out 0-2, Aviles has seen the ball well this spring training and his candidacy to start at shortstop this season is getting better and better.
Bottom 2nd: Doubtont took care of business once again, retiring Andruw Jones, Bill Hall and Jayson Nix in the inning.
So far, it looks like he has bounced back from last week's subpar outing against the Cardinals when he walked three batters and allowed two runs.
Mid 2nd: Will Middlebrooks and Juan Carlos Linares each grounded out to short, while Lars Anderson struck out.
It's worth noting that Yankees SS Eduardo Nunez was a late scratch as he recovers from a bruised hand and Doug Bernier was slotted in his place.
Bottom 1st: Felix Doubront worked himself out of trouble. After surrendering a single to Russell Martin and a walk to A-Rod, he managed to induce Mark Teixeira and Raul Ibanez into groundouts.
During both groundouts, Doubront had to show off his PFP work, fielding one while running to first base to cover the next one.
Also of note, he blew a fastball past A-Rod that made the Yankees' third basemen nearly buckle and do a 360. That was impressive.
Mid 1st: The first pitch was thrown at 7:06 p.m. and the first out was recorded at 7:06 p.m. Mike Aviles grounded out to second quickly to start it off.
Jacoby Ellsbury made good contact with one of Ivan Nova's pitches, knocking it down the right field line for a double. But Saltalamacchia couldn't drive in the run and flew out to center.
6:15 p.m.: Here's the rundown on the injuries straight from Bobby Valentine's mouth.
“Ryan Sweeney, as I walked by him this morning, talked to him and he said he was a little stiff and he’s going to let me know when he’s feeling better," Valentine said. "Iglesias feels like he’s really good and will be better with another treatment tomorrow. Andrew Miller threw his ‘pen without any pain and is scheduled for a game Friday. Andrew Bailey had no ill effects from his first game yesterday. And that’s the injury report for today.”

8 a.m. ET: The Red Sox will take on the Yankees for the first time in spring and Bobby Valentine wants to make a statement — in the most jovial way.
"Yeah, we want to set the tone," Valentine said with a laugh on Monday. "We really want to let them know how we are. Send a message."
He wasn't really serious when making the comments, especially since Boston's best team won't be on the field. The only regular starters that are scheduled to make the trip are Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Mike Aviles.
Felix Doubront will be taking the hill for the Red Sox as he continues to vie for a spot on the team since he's out of options.
