One team rumored to be interested in Allen is the Los Angeles Clippers, according to SI.com's Sam Amick.
The Clippers lost Chauncey Billups to a season-ending injury earlier this season, and lost out to the Knicks in the J.R. Smith sweepstakes, opening the door for a potential deal for a veteran such as Allen.
Amick reports that while point guard Rajon Rondo's name continues to come up when it comes to trade talks involving the Celtics, some league executives feel that Allen is the most likely to be moved.
The Celtics' asking price may keep the Clippers from swinging a deal for the veteran shooting guard, though, as Boston reportedly wants a package that includes a young talent and a draft pick. Los Angeles could probably supply the young talent, but it lacks the necessary draft pick.
The Clippers sent their 2012 first-round draft pick to the Thunder in a deal for Eric Bledsoe, which then got sent to the Celtics as part of the Kendrick Perkins trade last season. The Clippers also traded their other first-round pick — which they had received from the Timberwolves — in the deal in which they landed Chris Paul.
Allen is averaging 14.7 points in 34.2 minutes per game this season, while shooting 48.3 percent from 3-point range and 47.5 percent from the field overall.
