Gerald Green is back in the NBA, and it appears his stay will last a little while longer.

The former Celtic and 2007 NBA Slam Dunk champ is expected to sign a second 10-day contract Thursday to remain with the New Jersey Nets, Andy Vasquez of northjersey.com reports.

Green, 26, has attracted praise for his scoring and athleticism off the bench.

"Gerald has definitely — he's been good for us," point guard Deron Williams was quoted as saying. "Most of our wings just run to spot up, but he runs to the rim, runs to get transition buckets, and it just gives us a different look out there at the wing."

Green has averaged 7.7 points and 20.7 minutes in three games with the Nets. He last played in the NBA in 2008-09, when he appeared in 38 games with the Mavericks.

This is the final 10-day contract Green can sign with the Nets. Once the second 10-day contract is up, the Nets must release him or sign him through the end of the season.
