There's putting the full-court press on a player to get him to sign, and then there's what the Orlando Magic are reportedly trying to do to re-sign Dwight Howard.

ESPN.com is reporting that the organization is going to extreme lengths to try and convince the free-agent-to-be to stay in Orlando, and that includes allowing Howard to make some pretty big decisions. If Howard does re-sign, he will reportedly be able to make the decision on whether or not general manager Otis Smith and head coach Stan Van Gundy are allowed to return.

The Magic are also doing everything they can to add another piece to the roster before Thursday's trade deadline to prove to Howard that they are committed to building a winner going forward. According to ESPN.com, Milwaukee's Stephen Jackson is a potential target, as he's upset with life as a Buck. Golden State guard Monta Ellis is also a player that has been rumored to be on the Orlando radar screen.

However, if they can't make a splash before Thursday, ESPN.com reports that the Magic will then look at all of their options and make a decision on whether or not they're going to move Howard before the deadline.
