The New York Jets are no strangers to making headlines, and they’ve done it quite frequently this past week after swinging a trade for the always polarizing Tim Tebow.
But it will take the Jets a little more than Tebow to overcome the Patriots in the AFC East. Perhaps the “Madden Curse” could do the trick.
Over the years, a number of players that have appeared on the cover of the Madden video game series have gone on to endure rough times thereafter. With Rob Gronkowski and Wes Welker each vying to be this year’s cover athlete, Jets fans should consider voting extensively for the duo in the hopes that one will win and subsequently fall victim to the curse.
Or Jets fans could bank on Mark Sanchez finally living up to his potential. The “Madden Curse” seems like the safer bet, though.
