Should Robin van Persie Stay at Arsenal, or Sign With AC Milan, Manchester City or Another Club? After seeing Robin van Persie in the flesh, AC Milan joined Manchester City on the list of potential suitors. The Arsenal FC striker will be a free agent after next season, and clubs are jockeying for position to throw money his way.

SkySports reports two of van Persie's agents, Jeroen Hoogewerf and Cornelis Vos told Tuttomercatoweb.com that the red-hot Gunner would consider a move to the Serie A leader.

"AC Milan want Van Persie?", they said. "Very good! We can talk about it."

It's unknown if the agents' comments should be taken with a grain of salt, but recent reports say Milan is considering selling Pato to fund a transfer bid for van Persie.

The Dutch marksman has refused to negotiate a new contract during the season. In September he said he would wait until the "right moment" to discuss a new deal. Many took that to mean he wanted to wait until the end of the season to see where Arsenal stands in the Premier League, and assess the club's future plans.

The 28-year-old is playing the best soccer of his career. He's scored 32 goals in 37 games this season, having finally conquered the injury demons that have cursed so much of his time in English soccer.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini told the Mirror that van Persie is his club's wish-list, but he expects the league-leading goal scorer to stay at Arsenal.

"This is normal, but not only us," Mancini said. "I think all the good teams are interested in Van Persie.

"I think Van Persie at this moment is one of the best strikers in Europe with [Lionel] Messi, [Cristiano] Ronaldo and with Sergio [Aguero] and Mario [Balotelli]. I think he is a fantastic striker, but I think he will remain with Arsenal.

"I think if there is a good player who wants to leave a club, then we are interested. But if this player wants to stay, we don't have any problem. In my opinion, Van Persie will stay at Arsenal."

Arsenal has made it clear how much it wants to retain the services of van Persie. The club has no plans to sell its captain and star. The Gunners will offer van Persie a club-record salary and signing bonus. If he rejects the offer, Arsenal will hold onto him for another season and risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
