Boston mayor Thomas Menino has plenty of pride in his city, and plenty of pride in the city’s sports teams, so to see him take in the sights at Fenway Park recently wasn’t all that surprising.

It’s still a testament to the Red Sox’ social status throughout the city of Boston, however, as they remain one of the — if not the — most popular franchise in all of baseball. Menino praised the organization during his recent visit, while also soaking up the atsmosphere at Fenway, which turns 100 years old this year.

Harvard’s baseball team also paid a visit to Friendly Fenway, taking a few cracks at the famous Green Monster.
