James Orent will conduct members of the Boston Pops and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus as they perform The Star-Spangled Banner during the pregame ceremonies.
Along with the performance, all of the Opening Day traditions will be present Friday afternoon. The giant American Flag will once again drape down over the Green Monster, and the "Green Mountain Boys" of Vermont will fly over Fenway in F-16 Jets after the Boston Pops and Tanglewood Chorus finish the Anthem.
And of course, no opening day ceremony would be complete without the declaration to "Play Ball."
Fenway will also start housing historic photographs and memorabilia, continuing the theme of the historic ballpark as a "Living Museum." These new items will be featured in the 100th Anniversary version of the Fenway Park Tours, which begin on Saturday morning.
The actual 100 year celebration will take place a week later on Friday, April 20, which was the exact date when Fenway first hosted a Major League Baseball game.
The Opening Day ceremonies are scheduled to start at 1:30 P.M. The Red Sox and Rays will begin the home opener at 2:05 p.m.
