In one of many postseason predictions, WhatIfSports.com recently simulated the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs and ended up crowning the Boston Bruins as the 2011-12 Stanley Cup champs.

According to their research — which includes current rosters, stats and home-ice advantage — the B’s will top the Capitals 4-1 before eliminating the Penguins 4-1 in the conference semifinals. Facing the Rangers in the Eastern Conference finals, the Bruins are predicted to knock them out 4-2 before meeting with the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup finals.

There, the B’s and Wings will go seven games, where Boston will capture its second straight Cup.
