Eric Kettani Will Participate in Patriots' Workouts, Still Waiting for Navy to Rule on AppealRunning back Eric Kettani will be on-site at Gillette Stadium next week when the Patriots begin their organized offseason workouts, though he is still waiting to hear from the Navy about his appeal.

The lieutenant junior grade served two years of active duty before joining the Patriots during their 2011 training camp. He started the year on the practice squad before the Navy recalled him in October due to a time of war.

Kettani appealed that decision since the Navy permitted him to join the NFL while keeping his selective reserve status and promoting the Navy, both through positive publicity and charitable work with the Wounded Warrior Project.

There has been no timetable given for the ruling on his appeal, though Kettani hoped it would happen in time for him to join the Patriots on a full-time basis for camps.

Kettani is on the roster with fellow running backs Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Danny Woodhead and fullbacks Tony Fiammetta and Spencer Larsen. Running back Kevin Faulk is a free agent but could also return if he doesn't retire.
