Tris Speaker Highlights Red Sox Lineup During First Game at Fenway Park 100 Years Ago (Photos)The Red Sox lineup on Friday afternoon will feature the likes of David Ortiz, Adrian Gonzalez and Dustin Pedroia. All are well-known figures in and around Boston.

This era of baseball player is far different than the ones filling out the Red Sox’ lineup for the first game at Fenway on April 20, 1912.

Back then, players were still stuck in what’s become known as the deadball era, a time so defunct of power that in 1910 Red Sox first baseman Jake Stahl led the league with just 10 home runs. Talk about muscle.

Stahl was just one of the nine Red Sox players, who took the field for the inaugural game at Fenway Park on April 20, 1912.

Other Red Sox that started in the 7-6 victory over the New York were Baseball Hall of Famers like Tris Speaker and Duffy Lewis.

Check out the entire Red Sox lineup from 100 years ago and great stats and information on each of the players, below.
