The Red Sox were active on Sunday, as they made a few roster moves in addition to playing a game against the Rays at Fenway Park. But there was some other news that flew under the radar a bit.
John Lackey played catch in the outfield, showing that he’s continuing to make baby steps in his return from elbow surgery.
Lackey won’t be toeing the rubber at all for the Red Sox this season, but it’s good to see the right-hander working hard in the hopes of bouncing back in 2013. The righty will also be sticking with the major league club going forward, perhaps even traveling on some road trips.
Check out the video above for more on Lackey and the Red Sox’ recent roster moves.
