NESN's own Tom Caron is getting ready, as the big day is fast approaching. No, TC isn't getting ready for a special broadcast or anything like that. Instead, he's getting ready for the Walk/Run to Home Base on May 20 at Fenway Park.
TC will lace them up and get out and run in the 9K event to help raise money for the Red Sox Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. The money that TC and the rest of the runners and walkers are able to raise for the even will help serve the needs of veterans with combat stress and/or traumatic brain injury, as well as helping those veterans' families.
It's an admirable effort for a terrific cause, and TC is looking for help to make the event even more special. That's why he's calling for others to join Team NESN to help him out.
Those interested in helping the cause can volunteer in two different ways. First, they can join to run the 9K race or take part in the 3K walk and raise $1,000 in donations to participate. If fans aren't feeling up running or walking, they can help by donating to Team NESN.
