The University of Kentucky won an NCAA championship on Monday night in New Orleans, adding to their storied history as one of college basketball's most storied programs. That title win over Kansas may be welcomed news for more than just the Wildcats, though.

A UK win may also mean good news for the New York Yankees of all teams.

The Bombers have actually won the last six World Series that have followed a Kentucky national championship, starting in 1949. The Wildcats and Yankees have both taken home titles in '49, '51, '58, 78, '96 and '98.
