There is just something humorous about a guy named Metta World Peace delivering a blatant elbow to the head of another man. That is, of course, as long as you're not James Harden.
Harden was the victim of a reckless, and almost certainly intentional elbow from World Peace on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.
It was the kind of action from World Peace that reminded you of his days as Ron Artest.
Back in the Artest days, the controversial forward was one of the NBA's bad boys, receiving more than 100 games in suspensions, most notably being leveled with an 86-game ban for his role in the Malice at the Palace.
World Peace can probably expect to hear from the league for the elbow to Harden's head, even though he's claiming he didn't mean to drop the Thunder guard.
"I got real emotional and excited, and it was unfortunate that James had to get hit with the unintentional elbow," he said after the Lakers' win. "I hope he's OK. Oklahoma, they're playing for a championship this year. I apologize to the Thunder and James Harden. It was just fortunate."
World Peace added to that on Sunday night via Twitter.
"I just watched the replay again….. Oooo.. My celebration of the dunk really was too much… Didn't even see James ….. Omg… Looks bad"
Looks bad indeed, "Ron." Looks real bad.
