A good hit can completely change the complexion of a game and shift momentum in a team's favor, much in the same way a good fight can.
On Monday, we highlighted the top 10 fights of the 2011-12 NHL regular season. Now, it's time to dive into which hits can claim to be the season's best, because one doesn't have to drop the gloves to send a message to the opposition.
A number of the hits include Bruins players. Sometimes they're the ones delivering the hits, while other times, they're on the receiving end; that's to be expected when you play such a rough-and-tough style.
Milan Lucic and Chris Neil are a couple of players who dished out crushing blows this season, which shouldn't be much of a surprise to those who've watch the duo play. However, there's some other names that might come as a bit of a surprise. And to the delight of many B's fans, P.K. Subban was the recipient of one of the year's most vicious hits.
